Shadow Health has been a very helpful and a welcome addition to the online LPN to BSN curriculum. The product is flexible, easy to use for both faculty and students, and has great customer support. The Shadow Health scenarios have allowed us to verify student outcomes utilizing standard clinical scenarios which are not always available in a clinical situation.
I completely enjoy the patient conversations, because it has you ask a variety of questions. It really challenges you to think critically.
Great experience which will improve student activities and relationship with patients.
I teach in the practical nursing program and have used Shadow Health for two years with good results with my students. Shadow Health provides opportunities for my students to practice their skills safely in realistic mental health scenarios with their virtual SIM patients. Students practice the therapeutic communication, physical and mental health assessment, and health education. Students do this on their own time and I have noticed their skills improve the more time they spend practicing their skills with the Shadow Health Mental Health modules. Shadow Health Mental Health modules fills the vacuum created due to the lack of inpatient or outpatient mental health hospitals or clinics willing to accept practical nursing students for their practicum placement.
