DIGITAL CLINICAL EXPERIENCES™
Engage in Conversation Based-Learning
Our natural language Conversation Engine allows students to talk to our diverse suite of patients using open-ended questions. Students synthesize the subjective data they gather from the interview with objective data from the patient's electronic health record to make effective judgments and decisions about their care.
Measure Clinical Reasoning
DCE Score and Student Performance Index
The Digital Clinical Experience Score is a normalized measure that compares a student’s performance relative to their peers in the same assignment. Students can use this score to gauge their progress in the assignment, class, and their program, while instructors can confidently use it as an assignment grade.
Shadow Health has developed and validated the first conceptual frameworks to operationalize clinical reasoning within virtual patient simulations.
This innovative framework includes six discrete components of clinical reasoning: Subjective Data Collection, Objective Data Collection, Therapeutic Communication, Documentation, Information Processing, and Self-Reflection.
Shadow Health’s Student Performance Index provides both you and your students with the immediate, detailed feedback necessary to accurately identify areas of strength and opportunities for remediation.
Digital Standardized Patient
Shadow Health’s fully realized and carefully researched Digital Standardized Patients™ provide validated, uniform, and repeatable educational simulation experiences to nursing students. Our Digital Standardized Patients range widely in age, race, socioeconomic status, gender, identity, and sexual orientation, allowing students to incorporate these factors into their care in a safe and controlled environment. Moreover, our patient’s health histories and disease states support students’ mastery of nursing principles in a wide spectrum of medical situations.
